The Innovation Associate will support multiple, concurrent projects within the Academic Innovations: Operations department at Wake Forest University Health Sciences. This role involves gathering data, interpreting inventions and new technologies, and completing technology assessments by analyzing the competitive and patent landscape to make recommendations regarding commercialization potential. The associate will engage with innovators, including researchers, faculty, and staff, to identify and evaluate new inventions and business opportunities, guiding the development of commercialization strategies. Additionally, the role includes educating innovators on intellectual property and commercialization, managing a portfolio of cases using databases like Sophia, and developing marketing outreach strategies for invention disclosures. The associate will also assist licensing managers in identifying, contacting, and negotiating with potential licensees, and coordinate licensing activities with the broader Office of Technology Transfer for Advocate Health. This position involves writing, designing, and presenting deliverables for various audiences, reviewing publications for potential undisclosed innovations, and assisting in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures. The role also supports identifying funding sources and assisting with applications, and reviews licensee compliance and reporting.
