This role is a 1-year co-op placement starting in September 2026 and ending in August 2027. The Innovation and Sustainability Co-op student is responsible for exploring new solutions to improve construction efforts and efficiencies, developing solutions to transition to a low-carbon economy, investigating risks associated with climate change, and ensuring community well-being. They can expect to work in a small team under the direct guidance and supervision of the director. The role will entail site visits, pilot projects to reduce carbon emissions, assessment of drawings (architectural, mechanical, electrical, shop drawings, etc.), research in upcoming smart home technologies, support EV charger installations, aid the development of an ESG strategy, and many other responsibilities to support Tridel’s Innovation and Sustainability efforts. The Co-op student can expect to gain experience applying theoretical knowledge in real-life applications (heat transfer, heating and cooling systems, building envelopes, basic electrical systems, etc.). They can expect to work alongside a variety of internal and external stakeholders to further the development of innovative and sustainable initiatives. The Co-op student will be expected to work in the office with the option to work remotely periodically.
