About The Position

Gilchrist County Road Department has a full-time opening for an Inmate Crew Leader. The ideal candidate will be dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while supervising inmate work crews in a safe and productive manner. This is a full-time position with benefits and is subject to a six-month probationary period. Gilchrist County is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace (EOE/DFWP). Requirements

Must be able to obtain clearance from the Florida Department of Corrections.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver License and have a good driving record.
Must be able to perform heavy lifting and strenuous physical work as needed.
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions with minimal supervision.
