Inks & Coatings Operator

About The Position

This position performs general utility duties associated with the production and finishing of inks and coatings. The operator uses mixers and packaging equipment, handles and moves materials, checks and samples products for quality, completes production paperwork, and maintains equipment and a clean, safe work area. The role also includes operating a forklift after becoming licensed, conducting safety inspections, and recommending improvements to product appearance, flow, and workplace safety.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Attention to detail.
Ability to operate packaging equipment and computers.
Ability to accomplish multiple tasks.
Ability to become a licensed forklift operator.
Ability to communicate well with other employees, particularly regarding production issues.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to follow all safety rules and regulations.
Ability to write routine correspondence and complete production paperwork.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to work extended hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Operate mixers.
Package product into containers, label containers, and prepare products for shipment.
Complete required paperwork according to Company guidelines.
Select and move components to the weighing area or pumping station.
Examine in-process materials to determine compliance with quality standards.
Sample product according to Quality Control procedures.
Maintain and clean equipment regularly as needed and according to preventive maintenance requirements.
Maintain a clean work area and adhere to OSHA regulations.
Operate a forklift to move and store raw materials and finished goods.
Perform regular safety inspections and make recommendations for improvement.
Recommend improvements to product appearance and flow.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
