The Injection Operator performs tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and is responsible for day-to-day operations of PET and HDPE injection equipment and auxiliary equipment. Duties include preparing, setting up, starting, and operating injection equipment; making minor adjustments as directed; and completing production, destruction, and quality logs. The operator performs visual and mechanical quality checks, maintains production-area housekeeping, identifies resin types and parts suitable for grinding and reintroduction, and reports quality defects promptly. The role may involve working in multiple production areas with minimal supervision, providing relief coverage, troubleshooting minor production issues, and collaborating with maintenance as needed. Operators use computer systems such as Shotscope, Electric80, and Ignition and apply an understanding of line flow and manufacturing processes to maximize throughput. Regular, predictable attendance is essential. The position works 12-hour shifts on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, which may be during the day or night.
