About The Position

The Injection Molding Technician will play a crucial role in overseeing the operation of injection molding machines on a given shift to produce products which conform to part specifications, quality specifications, procedures and standards. This role involves setting up molding equipment, processing, and maintaining effective manufacturing to produce parts to specification throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Good mechanical aptitude, knowledge of injection molding mechanics, processing and auxiliary equipment.
  • Good organization and communication skills.
  • Computer skills, including experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to recognize issues and diagnose for quick resolution, maintain quality standards, and produce product per production schedules and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years’ experience preferred.
  • Leadership in a team environment is a plus.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent plus previous molding responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up molds and machines. Operate injection molding machines to produce specified product to quality and relieve other operators as required using defined set-up sheets.
  • Ability to weigh materials, blend materials or other specified ingredients per specifications or instructions and Load / Dry blended materials in hopper on molding machines as needed.
  • Inspect mold and other tooling for damage or wear and promptly notifies issues to appropriate individuals.
  • Perform in process inspections for defects; utilizes manual gauges or other instruments to inspect or sort molded product.
  • Remove molded parts from machines assuring standard cycle is met and all parts are cleared from tooling after each cycle.
  • Ensure that production floor is properly cleaned, maintained, and organized.
  • Correctly fill out related quality records whether hard copy or electronically.
  • Assist in training and supporting other employees performing similar tasks on the proper techniques and procedures in order to produce defect free parts.
  • Communicate with the other shifts the status of parts, equipment and any other matters that might have an impact on their job through verbal and written means.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
