About The Position

The Injection Molding Technician will serve as the dedicated technical expert for injection molding machines used in the aPT_Tube shoulder molding process. This position plays a critical role in the launch of the tube business, supporting the transition from initial start-up to stable mass production and future automation initiatives, including process standardization and automation-readiness of injection molding operations. The specialist will be responsible for operating, setting up, maintaining, and optimizing injection molding machines, including mold changes and basic maintenance activities. In addition to supporting day-to-day production, this role will actively contribute to productivity improvement, equipment optimization, and automation-oriented manufacturing enhancements in close alignment with production, engineering, and quality teams. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and stable manufacturing operations is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating injection molding machines
  • Strong technical knowledge of injection molding processes, machine setup, and process optimization
  • Hands-on experience with mold changeovers and basic mold and machine maintenance
  • Proven troubleshooting skills for molding defects, process instability, and equipment issues
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow technical documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and a hands-on, detail-oriented, safety-focused work style
  • Willingness to support a growing business environment and adapt to changing priorities

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of injection molding experience
  • Experience with PET materials and/or tube or packaging product manufacturing
  • Experience supporting production start-ups, new line installations, or scale-up activities
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, including Kaizen or process optimization initiatives
  • Technical or vocational training in injection molding or manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Operate and optimize injection molding machines dedicated to tube shoulder production
  • Perform mold changeovers, machine setup, process parameter adjustments, and trial support
  • Troubleshoot molding defects, process instability, and equipment-related issues
  • Support start-up, ramp-up, and stabilization of injection molding processes for aPT_Tube
  • Conduct basic and preventive maintenance activities on injection molding machines
  • Inspect molds and related equipment, and identify maintenance or repair needs
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and external vendors for advanced repairs when required
  • Support documentation and standardization of machine settings, procedures, and best practices
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure stable output, yield, and quality
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to molding defects and process deviations
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety rules, and quality standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to productivity, cost, and scrap reduction
  • Support the overall launch and scale-up of the aPT_Tube business from a manufacturing perspective
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, quality, and management to improve processes and equipment performance
  • Provide technical input during trials, evaluations, and new product introductions
  • Ensure safe operation of injection molding machines and related equipment
  • Follow and promote compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
