Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience setting injection molds and injection mold processing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Must have excellent understanding of the injection molding machine functions.
  • Must understand the fundamentals of the injection molding process.
  • Knowledge of plastic raw materials and their processing characteristics.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40lbs.
  • Able to work weekend and statutory holidays when required.
  • Self-starter and able to work in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and take directions.
  • Must have own tools.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor molds in presses, following established production processes.
  • Execute scheduled start-up procedures promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure all processes run within specified parameters for optimal performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized machine and work area before commencing production.
  • Notify shift supervisors once start-ups are completed and processes are running smoothly.
  • Verify all water circuits before initiating the start-up process.
  • Troubleshoot the molding process, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and production efficiency.
  • Address quality issues and collaborate with the quality department to identify root causes.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the efficiency of the molding department.
  • Communicate any problems, needs, or important information to the shift supervisor.
  • Assist the shift supervisor as needed.
  • Train process technician trainees as required.
  • Arrive 5 minutes before your shift starts to communicate with your supervisor and the previous shift.
