Position Summary: The Injection Molding Operator operates assigned machines in the Handles Department to produce quality parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawing. This effort includes, but is not limited to, conducting basic machine changeovers, accurately completing quality control documentation and inspection sheet. This individual works with other machine operators and management to ensure good manufacturing practices, inspection techniques, SOPs, and safety regulations every day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Able to perform visual inspection with the use of a microscope on small parts; strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate math skills in geometric and trigonometric formulas a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision; well organized and possesses the ability to multi-task
  • Team player, open to new ideas and team work, self-motivated individual, willingness to continually strive to increase personal knowledge and value
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Advanced critical thinking and problems-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Operates assigned machines in the Handles Department to produce quality parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawing.
  • Conducts basic machine changeovers.
  • Accurately completes quality control documentation and inspection sheets.
  • Works with other machine operators and management to ensure good manufacturing practices, inspection techniques, SOPs, and safety regulations every day.
  • Measures, inspects, loads/unloads parts from injection molding machine.
  • Implements dimensional adjustments (offsets) as needed.
  • Performs basic set-ups and job change overs.
  • Changes and touches off all tooling and adjusts part to print specifications.
  • Communicates any issues or inefficiencies.
  • Inspects product in accordance with all verbal and/or written instructions such as part drawings, traveler, work instructions, and process specifications.
  • Embraces Good Manufacturing Practices and inspection techniques each day; follows all SOPs and safety regulations.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
