About The Position

Epson Portland Inc. is looking for a Mold Maintenance Technician II to maintain, repair, and support the performance of our injection molds. Your technical expertise will help ensure reliable production, consistent product quality, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll work directly with injection molds, tooling, and machined components, using your knowledge of machine tools, tool steel, and heat treatment to inspect, clean, repair, and support mold modifications. You’ll also collaborate with technicians and production teams to address maintenance needs, respond to urgent projects, and keep equipment performing to established standards. We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to quality and safety. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Machine Shop Technology, completion of a four-year apprenticeship program, or equivalent applicable education and work experience.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing tooling experience using production machinery.
  • Proficient understanding of machine tools and their proper use.
  • Strong knowledge of tool steel and heat treatment requirements.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Mastercam.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • A commitment to accuracy, quality, safety, teamwork, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair injection molds: Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair molds to support reliable production and meet established quality specifications.
  • Support mold modifications: Assist with modifications to molds and machined parts used across production areas.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance needs: Use technical documents, written procedures, and verbal instructions to complete work accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond to urgent projects: Collaborate with other technicians to address time-sensitive maintenance needs and minimize production disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation: Keep records and reports of maintenance activities to support quality, traceability, and established company standards.
  • Apply tooling expertise: Use machine tools appropriately and apply knowledge of tool steel and heat treatment requirements to maintenance and repair work.
  • Support a safe, quality-focused workplace: Follow company safety programs, 6S initiatives, ISO procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Stay current: Continue developing your technical knowledge and awareness of industry best practices.
