About The Position

The Injection Molding Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the equipment, utilities, and general infrastructure required to keep YakAttack’s manufacturing facility operating safely and reliably. This is a hands-on technical position focused on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and general plant maintenance. The role supports our electric injection molding machines as well as chillers, air compressors, electrical systems, water systems, compressed-air systems, and other production and facility equipment.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience maintaining industrial or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with electrical systems and industrial electrical troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of compressed-air, water, cooling, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read basic electrical and mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to independently diagnose problems and complete repairs.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, meters, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize maintenance needs in a production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Injection molding equipment maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with chillers, compressors, pumps, and plant utility systems is preferred.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or similar hands-on experience.
  • Experience working in an injection molding or plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical, mechanical, HVAC, industrial maintenance, or related technical training or certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electric injection molding machines.
  • Maintain and repair supporting equipment, including: Chillers and cooling systems, Air compressors and compressed-air systems, Pumps and water systems, Material-handling and other production equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic hydraulic equipment issues.
  • Install, modify, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, outlets, and equipment connections within the facility as appropriate and permitted.
  • Install and maintain compressed-air lines, water lines, and other plant utility systems.
  • Perform general mechanical repairs and facility maintenance throughout the plant.
  • Support equipment installation, relocation, and setup.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work efficiently to return production equipment to service.
  • Maintain basic maintenance records, preventive-maintenance schedules, and equipment documentation.
  • Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend practical improvements.
  • Maintain maintenance tools, spare parts, and supplies in an organized manner.
  • Support plant safety, housekeeping, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors or service providers when specialized repairs are required.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as needed to support manufacturing operations.
