Requirements

  • Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set priorities and direct the Automation Departments in day-to-day activities. Cast a vision of continuous improvement and develop capital investment strategies to ensure reliable and cost-effective operation.
  • Develop and manage the Automation Department’s expenses and capital budgets.
  • Ensure automation equipment is maintained and in safe operating condition. Evaluate existing and new equipment including OEM vendor qualifications.
  • Review and provide technical advice to maintain and revise preventative maintenance programs. Assist with planning, project management, and resource allocation to ensure preventative maintenance compliance.
  • Develop, communicate, budget, and implement capital projects that will improve safety, reduce costs, improve operating efficiency, and improve plant systems.
  • Establish and track yearly goals for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a technical leader, mentor, and subject matter expert and effectively communicate with plant, regional, divisional, and corporate leadership.
  • Evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly downtime and efficiency reports to determine productivity levels and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work cross functionally with all departments to track plant performance, identify opportunities, coordinate activities, and implement solutions.
  • Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of technical employees within the Automation Department. Evaluate personnel merits for annual pay increases and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Tasks assigned by the Plant Director.
