About The Position

This role involves setting up new injection molding processes from scratch using scientific mold assessment tools to determine key process parameters like cycle time. The technician will analyze and adjust processes based on injection and pressure curve analysis, start up presses, ensure they are running to standard process, and provide troubleshooting when necessary.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
2 to 5 years of experience with machine and mold set-up.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot molding machines to bring parts into specifications for size, appearance, flash, splay, cycle time, etc.
Recognize and recommend corrective actions for tooling issues.
Demonstrate a high level of understanding of material properties and interactions in the injection molding process.
Frequently perform producer role while assisting Set-Up Technicians.
Complete necessary paperwork; sample retention papers; mold forms; mold change time tickets; and manufacturing orders.
Participate in developing action plans to resolve problems with safety, quality, production, delivery and 5S.
Assist set up technicians in timely mold setup, cleaning, venting and teardown as needed to support production schedules.
Help to properly install, monitor, clean and remove auxiliary equipment to injection molding machines as needed by Production Scheduling or Process Engineering.
Work with producers to stop/start, monitor and respond to injection molding machines, automation equipment and material loading system alarms.
Demonstrate a “service attitude” when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production and quality standards.
Maintain clean, organized, safe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations in accordance with 5S standards inside and outside of facility.
Ability to work all designated shifts.
