Injection Mold Set Up Technician - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Dynomax, a family-owned company that designs, manufactures, and develops high-precision machined components, injection molding and tooling, sub-assemblies, automated work cells, specialty machines, and machine tool spindles, is seeking an Injection Mold Set-Up Technician for its 2nd Shift team. The position carries a 10% second-shift premium. The technician sets up injection molding equipment and molds, verifies machine and auxiliary equipment readiness, adjusts process settings, inspects molded products, obtains first-article mold approval, and assists with auxiliary-equipment setup and maintenance.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of automation systems and equipment.
- Injection molding setup experience.
Responsibilities
- Read specification sheets to determine machine setup and prescribed settings, and verify the correct setup of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before startup.
- Position, align, and secure assembled molds or mold components and machine accessories using a hoist, power tools, and hand tools.
- Set machine controls for specified pressure, plastic curing time, and other parameters; adjust the machine to coordinate plastic and coolant flow to molds.
- Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimensional defects using a microscope, micrometer, and other gauges.
- Set up and adjust automatic compression, injection, or transfer machines used to mold plastic materials to specified shapes, following drawings and applying knowledge of machine functions.
- Obtain mold approval for first-article molds.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.
