Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of related molding plastics processing and maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience in machine start-up and shutdown.
  • Knowledge of basic machine functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic data entry skills.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to speak, read/comprehend, and write in English.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate a variety of material handling, molding, finishing and assembly equipment (e.g., mold setup, cutter adjustments).
  • Responsible for mold change and machine adjustments.
  • Start up and shut down the molding machines.
  • Operate forklift to perform mold changes and move/organize molds.
  • Fill out daily process records to control and maintain machine running conditions.
  • Conduct minor repairs and change inserts as necessary.
  • Responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of high-volume molding machines.
  • Monitor production quantities for color change, mold change, and product completions.
  • Execute all activities within the scope of approved procedures and set priorities to achieve production goals.
  • Monitor and address scrap production, implementing changes to eliminate root causes.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards (5S) in the assigned work area.
  • Promote and maintain safety, quality, and environmental awareness in the area of responsibility.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to equipment, machines, personnel, process, training, and materials to ensure maximum quality and efficiency.
  • Provide recommendations to engineering for process improvement opportunities.
  • Inspect machines hourly to ensure production of acceptable quality parts and prevent mass production of defective parts.
  • Accurately report daily shift performances, including safety, quality, labor hours, production tickets, scrap, and first part approvals.
  • Troubleshoot support equipment such as grinders, blenders, hopper loaders, and chillers.
  • Inform Production Lead of any events affecting production flow.
  • Communicate shift performance and scrap information to on-coming team members.
  • Act promptly to correct or remove workplace hazards.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
