About The Position

Hog Slat, Inc. is seeking an Injection Molding Professional with expertise in the continuous improvement and development of manufacturing methods for existing and new product lines. As an Injection Molding Process Engineer focused on our Grower Select Products Division, primary responsibilities will include knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities to assure a continuous supply of high quality products at the lowest cost. Hog Slat, Inc. is the world’s largest provider of production solutions for today’s poultry and hog producers. This position will work closely with all departments in our organization to provide value-added solutions for our customers while contributing towards the Company's financial objectives. Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team through change is a necessity. This position will be based at the Fabrication Facilities in Clinton, North Carolina.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years’ experience
  • Strong tool design and fabrication methods experience
  • Understanding of 3D Modeling and mold flow analysis
  • Experience or training in project definition, design, and process control
  • Robotic gate cutting and sprue picking programming experience
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Must have good analytical abilities, be creative and take initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Injection Molding Process engineering with knowledge in tooling design, fabrication and new process implementation
  • Set-up, optimize, trouble shoot, and operate all machine tools and equipment in the injection molding department and associated systems
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing process standards
  • Communicate closely and effectively with area operations personnel
  • Work under minimum supervision
  • Program and adjust molding machine production parameters to optimize output
  • Interface with production control on work scheduling
  • Ability to perform cavity and core changeovers
  • Sign off on first articles and ensure appropriate procedures in place for changeovers and first shots.
  • Develop, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, and equipment performance leading to reduced scrap.
  • Develop or revise standard operation procedures and observe team to ensure compliance with standards and procedures
