About The Position

The Grinder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring grinder equipment to ensure the safe and efficient processing of products. This role requires adherence to food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety standards while maintaining production requirements. This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Requirements

  • 6 points or less with no suspensions in last 12 months will be considered.
  • New hires must complete their initial 90-day probationary period.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to accurately record and track inventory information.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Must be able to and willing to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Must be able and willing to lift, push, pull, and move products, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Must be able and willing to work in varying temperature conditions and around production machinery.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, set up, and operate all equipment required for grinder operations.
  • Inspect grinder equipment prior to production to ensure proper setup and functionality.
  • Load product into the grinder according to established operating guidelines.
  • Issue and record raw materials in the designated inventory management system (DLX).
  • Monitor metal detectors and blue belt systems throughout production.
  • Immediately stop production and notify a supervisor or lead if foreign material or equipment concerns are identified.
  • Monitor TNF and Citilow spray systems and report any equipment malfunctions to a supervisor or lead.
  • Follow all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) when cleaning equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
  • Adhere to all food safety, quality assurance, animal welfare, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Work effectively with team members and leadership to support production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
