About The Position

Siegwerk in Hickory, NC is looking for an InHouse Technician to join our team! As an InHouse Technician you will perform a broad range of technical tasks pertaining to daily ink room management and operation under the direction of the Ink Room Manager.

Requirements

• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills; as well as a demonstrated initiative in problem solving/troubleshooting required.
• Knowledge of basic computer operating and a good working knowledge of IMS.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental requirements, permit conditions, and safe work practices; use required PPE; maintain a clean and hazard-free work area; properly manage materials and wastes; promptly report spills, incidents, hazards, and compliance concerns; and participate in inspections, investigations, audits, and continuous improvement activities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with solvent ink is strongly preferred.
• Color matching ability and knowledge of inks and films preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists customer with ink room operations.
• Coordinates job set up for presses.
• Formulates and blends inks as required.
• Maintains inventory control standards.
• Organizes inks for press runs.
• Returns inks from press to appropriate area.
• Performs press-side color matching.
• Operates color computer.
• Other duties as assigned.
