About The Position

The Ingredient Receiver Rail Operator is responsible for the unloading of trucks and railcars, operating a locomotive/track mobile, setting up railcars for unloading, completing paperwork and inventories, operating receiving equipment safely, and maintaining housekeeping in assigned areas and around the control room. This role involves working in various environmental conditions and requires physical stamina. The position is for the 3rd Shift, Sunday through Thursday, approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with some flexibility required. The starting pay is $19.20/hr plus a $2.00/hr shift premium.

Requirements

  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl (e.g., yard chickens, pheasants, parakeets, parrots).
  • Must sign a Bio-security agreement attesting to the absence of fowl.
  • Applicants must be from Washington, Benton, or Madison counties in AR; Adair County in OK; McDonald County in MO; or within a 50-mile radius of the Johnson Rd Feed Mill.
  • 6 Months Operator experience with one employer in the previous 12-months.
  • Must have a Driver’s License and a Clean Driving record.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months clerical experience and/or feed mill experience.
  • Knowledge of DOT trucking procedures.
  • High school degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading of trucks and railcars as they are received or as space permits.
  • Operation of the locomotive/track mobile in a safe and productive manner.
  • Setting railcars up for unloading and completing proper paperwork and inventories.
  • Operating all receiving equipment properly and in a safe manner.
  • Maintaining acceptable performance in assigned housekeeping areas and of outside grounds around the control room.
  • Operating a locomotive/track mobile to move rail cars by following established procedures and/or specifications.
  • Coordinating activities such as switching cars from one track to another, coupling railcars together, and/or clearances.
  • Handling switches and hand brakes in accordance with company programs.
  • Walking the length of the track to monitor track conditions and report any irregularities to management.
  • Accurately recording data.
  • Operating scales and documenting incoming ingredients through the ticketing system.
  • Operating equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to appropriate storage silo.
  • Obtaining and running quality analysis on required incoming ingredients.
  • Lifting and using hand tools to assist in unloading of ingredients.
  • Performing minor maintenance duties using hand tools.
  • Working in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
  • Working in elevated areas and following all safety procedures.
  • Signing and abiding by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines, including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping including service areas.
  • Communicating to all levels of Operations, including Customers and Vendors, both orally and in writing where required.
  • Following and Operating within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Standing, Sitting, Walking, Climbing Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
  • Completing all other tasks assigned by management.
