About The Position

The Ingredient Receiver Rail Operator will be responsible for operating a locomotive/trackmobile to move rail cars, performing functions of the Control Room Panel - Batching operator, and coordinating activities such as switching cars, coupling railcars, and ensuring clearances. The role involves handling switches and hand brakes, monitoring track conditions, accurately recording data, operating scales, documenting incoming ingredients, and operating equipment to unload feed ingredients. The position also requires performing quality analysis on incoming ingredients, assisting in unloading with hand tools, performing minor maintenance, and working in various environmental conditions including hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. The role requires flexibility to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as needed, working in elevated areas, adhering to biosecurity guidelines, maintaining good housekeeping, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves following all Tyson Health and Safety protocols and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Must have 6 months work history in the last 12 months documented within your applications work history and/or resume. Can be a combination of employers as long as it is within the past 12 months or your application will not be reviewed.
  • Ability to operate a locomotive/trackmobile to move rail cars by following established procedures and/or specifications.
  • Ability to coordinate activities such as switching cars from one track to another, coupling railcars together, and/or clearances.
  • Ability to handle switches and hand brakes in accordance with company programs.
  • Ability to walk the length of the track to monitor track conditions and report any irregularities to management.
  • Ability to accurately record data/Dispatch.
  • Ability be able to operate scales and document incoming ingredients through the ticketing system.
  • Ability to operate equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to appropriate storage silo.
  • Ability to obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients.
  • Ability to lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading of ingredients.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance duties using hand tools.
  • Ability to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
  • Maintain good housekeeping including service areas and grounds keeping.
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required.
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
  • Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
  • CANDIDATES THAT HAVE WORKED FOR TYSON FOODS OR TYSON AFFILIATES 3 OR MORE TIMES WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR REHIRE.
