About The Position

Haleon is a manufacturing site for liquid, solid, and semi-solid health products, with complex regulatory factors, technical processes, and high-risk activities. Haleon is currently looking for a Senior Industrial Process Engineer to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team. As a Senior Industrial Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, optimization, and implementation of equipment and process systems to ensure efficient, safe, and industry-standard manufacturing operations. You will play a key role in continuous improvement, technical support, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to support site performance and strategy.

Requirements

  • Mastery of French is required for this position to ensure effective communication and compliance with our operational and regulatory standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in design or processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of HAZOP, FMEA, and other risk analysis methodologies.
  • Experience in end-to-end process management and optimization, from design to commissioning.
  • Experience in process redesign and optimization, including integration of safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of safety standards related to explosive areas (ATEX or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and engineering principles.
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial regulations and standards.
  • Skills in automation and robotics.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience with simulation or optimization tools.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and effective communication.
  • Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Ensure processes meet performance requirements (cost, quality, safety).
  • Lead and manage process redesign projects, including technical analysis, testing, validation, and integration of enhanced safety measures.
  • Lead initiatives for securing explosive areas, including ATEX compliance, audits, engineering solutions, and risk reduction.
  • Conduct or support HAZOP, FMEA, and other risk analysis methodologies.
  • Ensure end-to-end process management from design to commissioning.
  • Provide technical support during production trials and scale-up activities.
  • Manage process projects including planning, budget, schedule, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Ensure process compliance with ISO, FDA, GMP standards and apply the process safety plan.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance for complex issues.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
