About The Position

The Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineering team is looking for an engineer to lead and perform a diversified range of engineering tasks. This includes leading material qualifications, supporting cost reduction initiatives, solving part non-conformity issues, addressing production line problems, and managing supplier material changes. The role involves leading the development of test plans, collaborating with internal and external laboratories, analyzing results, and reviewing/approving test reports. The engineer will also support the writing, review, and approval of Materials & Processes Specifications for Completions and the associated Qualified Product Library, as well as review and approve engineering drawings and change documentation. Additionally, the role supports innovation projects and re-design activities, investigates new environmental regulations impacting Completions, handles complex issues, makes challenging technical decisions, and provides regular status updates to upper management. The engineer will lead and participate in process optimization, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives, providing technical expertise in various domains including metallics, surface treatments, polymers, coatings, protective finishes, upholstery, leather, woodworking, and interior flammability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Materials, Mechanical or Chemical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working as M&P in an aerospace/military production environment.
  • Significant knowledge on aircraft interior materials and processes such as surface treatments, coatings, protective finishes, leather, upholstery, woodworking etc.
  • Knowledgeable about typical military and/or aerospace industry standards such as CMH-17, MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO and SAE specifications.
  • Strong knowledge about flammability requirements according to FAR 25 regulations.
  • Proficient in engineering design principles and reviewing drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and project planning skills.
  • Adept at solving engineering problems in a high-pressure environment and can deal with complex issues quickly and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French (written and oral).
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and interact constantly with Senior Management, Professionals and Technicians from other value stream functions (Methods, Quality, Logistics etc.).
  • Proficient with CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
