About The Position

Within the business of the Hitachi Energy Transformers group, you will optimize manufacturing processes that support the reliability, safety and performance of the power grid. On a daily basis, you will use production data to justify and prioritise projects, assess risks and sustainability of action lines, then deploy continuous improvement methodologies to reduce losses and increase efficiency. You will stabilize operations through work standardization, structure KPIs to drive gains, write technical quotes and manage optimization projects involving internal and external teams (including unionized employees). By fostering technology intelligence and a safe working environment, you will contribute to sustainable quality and productivity gains—key levers for the modernization and sustainability of the energy fleet. This function will allow you to deepen your Lean Six Sigma practices, collaborate with key players in the manufacturing of energy equipment, and accelerate the integration of digitalization practices and Industry 4.0 in production, while seeing the concrete impact of your actions on operational and customer results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automated production or industrial engineering.
  • Member of OIQ.
  • 7 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing and industrial engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and their practical use; certification Green Belt Lean Six Sigma (minimum).
  • Familiarity with mechanical industrial installations (platforms, presses, lifting equipment).
  • Fluent in French and English; project management, problem solving and team mobilization skills.
  • The applicant must already hold a work permit to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Use production data to guide projects and increase productivity.
  • Assess project risks and recommend continuation or adjustment based on viability.
  • Improve and stabilize production processes for sustainable gains in operational performance.
  • Deploy continuous improvement practices (Lean, Six Sigma) to increase efficiency and reduce losses.
  • Diagnose the causes of variability, propose sustainable solutions and coordinate their implementation with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the standardisation of work to ensure the quality, safety and repeatability of operations.
  • Drafting technical quotations and managing optimisation projects by coordinating the teams (subcontractors, suppliers, unionized employees).
  • Implement, monitor and develop process and productivity performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable internal and external regulations, procedures and guidelines.
