About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience in the definition and certification of at least one Fly-by-Wire (FBW) system and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems and interfaces (electrical, hydraulic, avionics, autopilot) as well as the Part 25 certification process.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Strong communication skills, technical judgment, initiative, and results-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in modeling and simulation of flight control systems (an asset), with proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow.
  • Familiarity with tools such as ADAMS and CATIA (an asset), as well as MS Office and requirements management tools (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Perform integration of Fly-by-Wire (FBW) and Secondary Flight Control systems on the aircraft.
  • Support the development of concepts, design approaches, and system philosophy with the flight control system supplier.
  • Perform and/or review analyses to assess concept feasibility.
  • Develop, validate, and verify technical requirements for the flight control system.
  • Draft and/or review technical requirements.
  • Draft and/or review test procedures.
  • Execute bench and/or aircraft testing.
  • Draft and/or review test reports in support of certification activities.
  • Resolve issues encountered on in-service aircraft.
  • Perform troubleshooting, determine root causes, and define and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with the ARP4754 development process.
  • Participate in trade-off studies and life cycle cost analyses for future programs.
  • Ensure the design process and equipment implementation comply with company requirements and standards.
  • Perform occasional travel to suppliers and regulatory authorities, as well as on-site support at final assembly lines (Toronto and Montreal, as well as in the United States).
