About The Position

The Principal Engineer - RM&S Engineering role involves preparing aircraft/system safety analyses and compliance reports, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements like AWM 525.1309 and FAR/CS part 25.1309. The position holder will be responsible for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety (R,M&S) deliverables for assigned systems, identifying and resolving safety issues within the continuing airworthiness process. This includes participating in various safety analyses such as functional hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, system safety assessment, and failure mode and effect analysis, as well as contributing to final R,M&S certification reports. The role also requires coordinating technical issues and resolutions across SOGECLAIR, partners, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and customers. The position emphasizes ethical practices, positive change, and fostering a culture of integrity, respect, and inclusivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
  • At least seven (7) years relevant experience in the field of R,M&S.
  • Strong aerospace background.
  • Excellent understanding of aircraft performance characteristics, aircraft systems definition, integration, interfaces, component qualification, reliability and safety requirements and certification process of aircraft systems.
  • Knowledge of creating Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEAs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTAs) and Safety Analysis is required.
  • Must be cognizant of the relevant Airworthiness Regulations such as ARP 4761, ARP 4754 and the certification process.
  • Ability to communicate sound technical proposals and work status to management.
  • Team player, self-motivated person and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Familiar with a Microsoft 365 environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably have been directly involved in the aircraft definition and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Aircraft / System Safety Analysis and/or Particular Risk Assessments compliance reports and demonstrating compliance with AWM 525.1309, FAR/CS part 25.1309 and other relevant requirements.
  • Be responsible for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety deliverables specific to assigned systems.
  • Identify, follow up, and resolve all system safety issues and particular risks issues in support of the Continuing Airworthiness Process.
  • Participate in aircraft / system functional hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, system safety assessment, failure mode and effect analysis and the final R,M&S certification reports.
  • Perform certification activities involving co-ordination of technical issues and resolutions across all SOGECLAIR, Partner/Supplier, Regulatory and Customer parties.
