About The Position

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) is looking for an intermediate Municipal Infrastructure Engineer in the field of urban and transportation infrastructure. Intermediate Municipal Infrastructure Engineers contribute to the design and optimization of the Quebec City tramway project's infrastructure in close collaboration with other disciplines and construction teams. Roles can cover different phases, from preliminary design to site support. The Quebec City Tramway project, carried out under a progressive design-build model, represents a major transportation infrastructure initiative in the heart of Quebec City. To guide the execution of this project, Kiewit is seeking qualified professionals eager to apply their expertise to the civil engineering works of this large-scale project. Selected individuals will have the opportunity to play a central role in the development and implementation of this unique project in Canada, contributing to the development and construction of essential infrastructure for sustainable urban mobility within a particularly motivating environment. Joining this tramway project at Kiewit means participating in a structuring project for the community, with a team recognized for its technical expertise in design-build, its collaborative approach, and its commitment to health, safety, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in a relevant discipline.
  • More than 5 years of experience in developing municipal infrastructure plans.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ); membership in another Canadian professional order is an asset.
  • Experience in design or design-build projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic concepts is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of road modeling and familiarity with Civil 3D software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French, with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and support project efforts.
  • Dynamic individual capable of collaborating with different teams.
  • The position is based in Quebec and occasionally requires travel to project sites and attendance at meetings across North America, as project needs dictate.
  • Mastery of French (spoken and written). Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset as mobility and collaboration between Canadian provinces are required. Courses may be offered as needed.
  • Experience with AI agents and tools is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies, calculations, plans, and specifications according to the discipline.
  • Develop municipal infrastructure concepts, as well as detailed drawings, for technical proposals and project execution.
  • Participate in design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Integrate safety, constructability, and operational requirements into the design.
  • Support design-build activities and address technical site challenges.
  • Collaborate with CAD/BIM modeling teams.
  • Other related/required tasks.
