Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the mechanical field, particularly in industrial piping design.
• Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Have a good knowledge of the industrial environment.
• Mastery of French (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of Pipeflow, Plan 3D, Caesar software.
• Good knowledge of piping design codes (ASME B31.3, etc.).

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of pressure vessels is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Determine the specific needs of projects, establish the scope of work, and identify the steps and timelines for completion.
• Perform design and calculations related to project needs.
• Carry out piping design studies (Plans, isometrics, flexibility calculations, dimensioning).
• Define materials, supports, accessories, and equipment based on process, pressure, and temperature constraints.
• Perform stress analysis on piping.
• Verify compliance with applicable standards and codes (ASME, EN, API, etc.).
• Provide technical support to other project managers when required.
• May also be called upon to act as a project manager.
• Write technical specifications and reports.
• Estimate the cost of work.
• Coordinate between different stakeholders.
• Provide technical assistance during construction work.
• Support the development of the team and its members.
• Adhere to health and safety rules and procedures for employees and the environment, as well as prevent workplace incidents. Furthermore, with a view to continuous improvement, be proactive in improving health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures to prevent potential hazards related to your work.
