Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Advanced proficiency with Autodesk or equivalent 3D CAD software.
Engineering calculations.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Design for Assembly (DFA).
BOM management.
ERP/MRP systems.
Microsoft Office Suite.
2–4 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
Intermediate level of proficiency in both French and English.
French proficiency is required to communicate with our Québec-based team.
English proficiency may be required to communicate with team members outside Québec and to understand technical documentation that may only be available in English.

Nice To Haves

Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, or eligible for registration, is considered an asset.
Knowledge of ASME, CSA, ISO, and other applicable engineering standards is considered an asset.
Experience designing industrial equipment, HVAC systems, pressure vessels, or custom machinery is considered an asset.
Experience supporting manufacturing operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design mechanical systems and components using 3D CAD software.
Create manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
Develop reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
Participate in new product development from concept through production launch.
Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
Conduct prototype testing and validate designs.
Investigate design failures and implement corrective actions.
Provide technical support to Production and Manufacturing teams.
Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
Manage engineering changes and improve existing designs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, and efficiency.
Work closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Service teams.
Participate in field issue resolution and engineering analyses, including FMEA, DFMA, and root cause investigations.
Maintain engineering documentation.
Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (CSA, ASME, ISO) and customer requirements.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and test procedures.
Perform other related duties and projects as required.
