Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk or equivalent 3D CAD software.
  • Engineering calculations.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • BOM management.
  • ERP/MRP systems.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2–4 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in both French and English.
  • French proficiency is required to communicate with our Québec-based team.
  • English proficiency may be required to communicate with team members outside Québec and to understand technical documentation that may only be available in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, or eligible for registration, is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of ASME, CSA, ISO, and other applicable engineering standards is considered an asset.
  • Experience designing industrial equipment, HVAC systems, pressure vessels, or custom machinery is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical systems and components using 3D CAD software.
  • Create manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
  • Develop reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
  • Participate in new product development from concept through production launch.
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct prototype testing and validate designs.
  • Investigate design failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to Production and Manufacturing teams.
  • Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
  • Manage engineering changes and improve existing designs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Service teams.
  • Participate in field issue resolution and engineering analyses, including FMEA, DFMA, and root cause investigations.
  • Maintain engineering documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (CSA, ASME, ISO) and customer requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as required.
