About The Position

IPEX is one of the North American leading providers of integrated thermoplastic piping systems. Our mission is to build a better future by connecting people to water and energy. We are currently looking for a dynamic project engineer to join our project engineering team at our Nun’s Island, Verdun office on a hybrid work model. The project engineer will be preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects. The selected candidate will work on various projects involving close collaboration with many departments such as operations, maintenance, quality control, health and safety, logistics, etc. The work will be in both the plants and the corporate office at Nun’s Island, Montreal.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in engineering, in a manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience in new equipment installation / commissioning
  • Experience with Autocad is a must
  • Be available to travel within North America approximately 30% of the time.
  • Hold a valid driver's license in Quebec.
  • General knowledge of mechanical concepts, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Highly motivated, versatile and dedicated.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong skills in personal motivation.
  • Excellent skills in customer relationship management.
  • Rigor and strong organizational skills.
  • Capacity to learn in a changing and technological environment.
  • Skilled communicator, with strong teamwork values.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of extrusion and plastic molding equipment would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Define needs and requirements of the clients and help in justifying projects.
  • Prepare specifications and scope of work.
  • Manage equipment purchases. Meet with suppliers, analyze proposals, and make recommendations on the solution choices.
  • Plan and manage the installation and commissioning phases in our plants, while insuring that the corporate health and safety standards are observed.
  • Ensure the quality, safety and conformity of work and equipment, before and after delivery and installation.
  • Follow the financial budget of the projects.
  • Provide close out information to the client at the end of the project (warranty, drawings, updates plant layout).
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the methods of the Project Engineering Department.
