About The Position

The employee is responsible for the mechanical design of alternator components for hydroelectric power plant projects. They will also be responsible for providing technical support to the supply chain as well as to on-site activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, combined with 2–5 years of relevant experience
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Strong knowledge of strength of materials
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French

  • Proficiency in CAD tools
  • Experience in hydroelectricity is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Deliver design packages related to alternator components using technical guides and lessons learned from other engineers
  • Prepare calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) with the support of drafters and technicians, under the supervision of a senior engineer
  • Lead and participate in design reviews with other engineers, functional teams, and technical experts
  • Provide technical support to the supply chain and on-site activities
  • Collaborate with other Centers of Expertise (COEs) globally
  • Apply company standards and concepts to ensure project reliability, quality, safety, and cost control
