About The Position

Haleon is currently seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the site's automation systems, while ensuring the secure integration of operational technologies (OT) within the existing infrastructure. You will contribute to improving the efficiency, reliability, and safety of production systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Mastery of French is required for this position to ensure effective communication and compliance with our operational and regulatory standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in one or more automation systems: SCADA, PLC, DCS.
  • Good understanding of modern manufacturing processes, ideally in a regulated environment.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in designing and implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of automation project deliverables.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate with various stakeholder levels.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automation solutions to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Securely integrate new automation systems and existing systems with the site's IT/OT infrastructure.
  • Monitor the performance of automation and OT systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department for the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Lead and manage automation projects through the design, execution, and qualification phases.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
  • Ensure automation and OT systems comply with health and safety standards and regulations, including conducting audits and risk analyses.
  • Act as a technical expert for the site's automation systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS) and connectivity technologies (OPC-UA, MQTT).
  • Provide training and support to teams on the use and maintenance of automation systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operation manuals and technical guides.
