About The Position
Helms Home Care is seeking registered nurses to provide infusion therapy nursing services to patients in their homes. The role involves delivering compassionate, personalized care to patients of all ages and is a PRN position serving the Danville, Virginia area. Helms Home Care is a skilled nursing services company based in Denver, North Carolina, providing in-home infusion care across several states.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license.
- Competence in the listed infusion therapy nursing duties.
- At least 1 year of experience in infusion therapy and/or catheter maintenance and care.
- Reliable transportation.
- Access to a printer, scanner, and fax machine.
- Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance.
Responsibilities
- Perform catheter access and care, including peripheral IVs, port-a-caths, and PICC/central lines, as needed by patients.
- Perform vital signs and patient assessments.
- Administer medications, including antibiotics, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty medications.
- Draw blood.
- Educate patients on self-administration of medication.
- Complete visit notes through electronic charting and submit them promptly.
- Communicate promptly with scheduling personnel.
- Perform approximately two visits per week.
