About The Position

Metro Infusion Center (affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy at the clinic located in Huntsville, AL. This position offers a Monday-Friday schedule (8:30 am - 5:00 pm) and is ideal for someone seeking work-life balance, competitive pay, and a casual environment within a large, growing practice.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Current AL RN license
At least (2) two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
Infusion experience
Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

Chemo experience is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) lines for new patients.
Teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications and document accordingly in the Medical Record.
Review and chart daily laboratory results, communicating information to physicians and/or patients as needed.
Eprescribe prescriptions as per doctor's order and communicate with pharmacies.
Respond to patient and other telephone calls.
Review EMR charts for upcoming appointments, ordering necessary lab results, consult reports, or notes, and ensure all required fields are documented in EMR for meaningful use.
Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule appointments as needed.
Participate in quality assurance and educational activities.
Use clinical judgment to evaluate activities and prioritize patient care needs.
Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Participate in activities that facilitate good interpersonal communication within the facility.
Support professional practice by adhering to Standards of Nursing Practice, JCAHO, state and local laws, and MIDC policy.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
