About The Position

Mueller, a leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Territory Manager in the Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Montana territory. This exempt-level sales position has direct territory sales responsibility, primarily directed toward established distributors within the territory. Working under the direction of an Infrastructure Regional Manager, the Territory Manager will learn and expand their knowledge of the water distribution industry and sales strategies while earning a competitive salary, commissions, and a full benefits package.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years outside sales experience in the water distribution industry or related field (construction, piping, etc.).
  • Aptitude and comfort with selling technology-based sales solutions and platforms.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other technology-based productivity tools (i-Squared, Salesforce.com, NetSuite, OnContact, Maximizer CRM, TeamWox, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license with no major violations.
  • Ability to routinely travel 75% of work schedule (estimated 3-4 days/week of travel with one office day).
  • Ability to cover large geographical sales territory.
  • Intermediate computer experience with particular proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint programs.
  • High level of outgoing interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Comfortable with public speaking engagements and the ability to deliver presentations to large (30+) groups of customers and other external contacts.
  • Have ability to stand and give presentations for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 40 lbs. to maneuver products during demonstrations.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business, engineering, or communications-related field.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with end users—including municipalities and utility districts—while promoting both new and existing product lines to strengthen product specifications and long-term positioning.
  • Deliver exceptional support to distributor partners, including quotations, product training, technical guidance, marketing materials, inventory coordination, and resolution of delivery or product-related matters.
  • Lead impactful product training sessions for both end users and distributors, clearly communicating the value and advantages of Mueller solutions.
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key distributors and end-user stakeholders to drive sustained demand and market growth.
  • Set and execute clear sales and specification goals aligned with company objectives, contributing to overall business success.
  • Identify and capitalize on key project opportunities, providing comprehensive bid support and strategic pricing insights.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through responsive after-sales support, including warranty and claims management.
  • Represent Mueller in industry and trade organizations, enhancing brand presence and strengthening market relationships.
  • Maintain and grow a robust territory database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date insights on customers and opportunities.
  • Provide regular market intelligence and forecasts to regional leadership, helping guide strategy and decision-making.
