About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for an Infrastructure Technician. This is a Full Time - Contract role with a duration of 6 Months, located in New Albany, OH. As an Infrastructure Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, upgrading, and decommissioning structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and low-voltage infrastructure. You will perform fiber optic fusion splicing, including high-strand ribbon fiber splicing, termination, and certification testing. Conducting copper and fiber testing using Fluke DSX8000, OTDR, and VFL equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards is a key part of this role. You will also install and remove racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, patch panels, and network infrastructure components, as well as rack and stack servers, network devices, and telecommunications equipment within enterprise and data center environments. Interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, port maps, and technical documentation will be necessary to support project execution. Troubleshooting structured cabling, fiber networks, and low-voltage systems to identify and resolve connectivity issues is also a responsibility. Ensuring compliance with NEC, ANSI, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards, as well as site-specific safety requirements, is crucial. This role involves leading small teams of technicians, providing mentorship, and maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity. You will coordinate with project managers, customers, and field teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved. Maintaining accurate documentation for testing results, materials, labor hours, and project progress updates is required. You will also respond to service requests, support move/add/change activities, and provide exceptional customer-facing technical support.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage cabling systems
  • Proven ability to install, terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber systems
  • Understanding of NEC, ANSI, TIA, EIA, and BICSI standards

Nice To Haves

  • BICSI Technician Certification
  • Experience with major manufacturers (Panduit, CommScope, Corning, Leviton, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Cisco router installation and configuration

Responsibilities
