The Infrastructure Supervisor position is included in a workplace model that allows a combination of in-person and remote work. As the Infrastructure Supervisor, essential responsibilities include developing goals based on the IT Strategic Plan, prioritizing work for the team, and coaching staff to meet established objectives. This role ensures effective delivery of IT services through the establishment and monitoring of SLAs, and is actively engaged with disaster recovery planning, preparation, and execution. The supervisor prioritizes departmental and organization-based projects with direction from Technology Operations leadership. This role also manages staff, including hiring, disciplinary action, dismissal, setting and monitoring goals, career development, performance appraisals, and approving merit increases. The supervisor identifies professional development opportunities for team members and helps build career paths. They evaluate processes for industry best practices, provide input into strategic and tactical planning for IT systems, and monitor IT infrastructure resources for performance, availability, and security. Additionally, this role develops and enforces policies and procedures to protect STAR assets and information integrity, security, and privacy. They evaluate emerging technologies, architect the IT environment by designing system configurations, directing installations, and defining standards. The supervisor is responsible for the integrity of STAR’s data center infrastructure components (servers, storage, virtualization, network, cloud-delivered solutions) and researches current technology trends. They create and maintain documentation for infrastructure configuration, mapping, processes, and service records, and assist engineers in implementing new IT systems and maintaining existing ones.
