The fab2 team is seeking an Infrastructure and Site Reliability Intern for the winter term. The internship begins in January, with a preferred commitment of 4 to 8 months. The intern will design, build, deploy, and manage the on-prem backend infrastructure that powers their semiconductor fab. This is a broad role encompassing all aspects of backend infrastructure and services. The team's philosophy towards infrastructure is minimal, understandable, on-site, and close to the hardware, focusing on bare-metal Linux, systemd, and single file binaries, with a tech stack including Rust, Go, and Python. The role emphasizes building real things, getting close to the metal, and demonstrating engineering excellence. A portfolio is required to showcase software engineering excellence and curiosity.
