About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Lead Project Manager to join our program supporting the biomedical research community for our customer with the National Heart, Lung, and and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health. This role involves overseeing specific projects within the NHLBI IT support services program, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations, and leading project teams through the entire project lifecycle. The position requires strong skills in Agile project management, cloud management, and infrastructure, with a focus on adhering to established schedules, scope, costs, and risk management. Effective communication with stakeholders is crucial for providing regular updates on project milestones, issues, and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and at least five years of experience managing multiple and simultaneous IT projects involving infrastructure, service desk, and cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring junior project managers.
  • Must be proficient in Agile, Kanban/Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies and experienced with project management tools like Atlassian Jira, MS Project, and Smartsheet.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with NIH, government, or biomedical research setting

Responsibilities

  • Oversee specific projects within the NHLBI IT support services program.
  • Ensure projects are planned, managed, monitored, and completed in accordance with NHLBI, NIH, HHS, and federal government policies and regulations.
  • Lead project teams through project lifecycles while adhering to established schedules, scope, costs, and risk management.
  • Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders and provide updates on project milestones, issues, and risks.
