This role involves collaboration with electronic-trading platforms and infrastructure, dealing with a wide range of teams including Traders, Application Developers, Product Owners, and Engineering. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in Capital Markets Low Latency Network Infrastructure workflows will be highly relevant to this role.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on enterprise-level networks.
  • Strong proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching technologies (VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP), and VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with network virtualization technologies (e.g., SD-WAN, NSX).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Technical Expertise: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, QoS, IPSec, SSL VPN, SD-WAN.
  • Hardware: Cisco (Routers, Switches, Meraki), Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, F5.
  • Security: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAC, SIEM.
  • Tools: Wireshark, Nmap, Traceroute, Ping, Network Management Systems.
  • Operating Systems: Linux, Windows.
  • Soft Skills: Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Communication (Verbal & Written), Teamwork, Adaptability, Mentorship.
  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience in Capital Markets Low Latency Network Infrastructure workflows.

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, CCNA, PCNSE).
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Google Cloud Networking).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available network architectures.
  • Plan, configure, and deploy network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless access points) from various vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security incidents.
  • Provide expert-level support for all network-related problems, collaborating with other IT teams as needed.
  • Participate in after-hours support for network change activities.
  • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs).
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, published standards, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for network automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Develop and implement scripts (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network configuration, monitoring, and management tasks.
  • Work closely with other infrastructure teams (server, virtualization, cloud) to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
  • Participate in project planning and provide technical expertise for new initiatives.
