About The Position

Fermilab is seeking an Infrastructure Manager who, under general supervision, will oversee the Central Facilities Management Program for assigned/designated buildings. This role involves coordinating personnel and outside services to perform multi-trade task management of moderately complex contracted projects and services to completion. The Infrastructure Manager will also prepare and submit the annual capital asset replacement programs for assigned buildings.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in related field of Property Management, Facilities Management or Maintenance
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in operation of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Detailed knowledge of building mechanicals, building automation, electrical, fire systems, and plumbing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent customer service relations with building occupants.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time and move safely over uneven terrain when necessary.
  • Proficiency in operation of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), work order applications, and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Must be able to work from our Batavia Office.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
  • Must obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential.
  • Must successfully complete and pass a federal background check investigation.
  • Must disclose any participation in Foreign Government Sponsored or Affiliated Activities.
  • Must produce a REAL-ID, or equivalent, to access the Fermilab Campus for interviews or career events.

Nice To Haves

  • OHSA 10 Construction preferred and/or willing to obtain.
  • Competencies in alignment with Federal Buildings Personnel Training act for Facilities Managers.
  • IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP) or IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Central Facilities Management Program for assigned/designated buildings.
  • Coordinate personnel and outside services to perform multi-trade task management of moderately complex contracted projects and services to completion.
  • Prepare and submit the annual capital asset replacement programs for assigned buildings.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all building related systems.
  • Develop moderately complex facility specific procurement packages.
  • Review outside contracts proposals and select appropriate contractors/vendors.
  • Perform multi-trade task management oversight of contracts through completion.
  • Conduct inspections, document facility condition assessments, and ensure timely compliance with ESH&Q regulations and compliance programs.
  • Verify and ensure the monitoring of equipment and building areas such as HVAC, boiler systems, chillers, compressors, roof systems, and janitorial services.
  • Coordinate with Tenant Liaisons to ensure all facilities maintenance and operational service needs are satisfied.
  • Develop facility policies for building tenants and create detailed procedures for complex work projects and building equipment.
  • Respond to weekend and after-hours calls to ensure reactionary repairs are addressed.
  • Maintain operational and capital equipment budgets.
  • Generate budgetary reports.
  • Ensure contractors and service providers are appropriately trained, with supporting documentation, to provide required services in an efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Ensure all maintenance service requests are documented in the CMMS system.
  • Monitor backlog and work to improve overall response.
  • Conduct inspections and document condition assessment of assigned buildings.
  • Provide, update, and validate data associated with Real Property.
  • Develop and report on metrics relative to facility condition, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Report Service Improvement Plan (SIP) annually to tenants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Abide by and be responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
