About The Position

i3 is searching for an Infrastructure/IT Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The mission is to design and implement a Missile Defense System with multiple layers of protection. The Infrastructure/IT Lead is responsible for the overall IT operations of AIMSS. Oversee the design, development, implementation, updates, operation and sustainment and documentation of the hardware associated with the systems, servers, networks, and associated equipment of AIMSS. This position is located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certs: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect or professional, CCSP and/or CISSP
  • Knowledge of cloud environments and service models, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Knowledge of networking, virtualization, and Linux fundamentals.
  • Ability to train and mentor other members of the team.
  • Ability to remediate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Docker, Ansible, Saltstack, and Terraform.
  • Active Secret clearance required. Must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position.
  • Must reside within a 75-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL or be willing to relocate prior to starting date.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the office as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external MDA entities, other Government agencies, and Contractor organizations to plan, document and execute the network communication interfaces between AIMSS network IT and other network IT in support of AIMSS operations and mission requirements.
  • Oversee and manage the helpdesk in support of AIMSS customers, utilizing the enterprise ticketing software to record and provide metrics related to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, processes, procedures, CONOPS, configurations and architectures of AIMSS systems and networks.
  • Develop and maintain a technical baseline of all current and future systems.
  • Develop technical roadmap of technology viable to MDA mission.
  • Evaluate new technologies to streamline and automate current processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to plan and execute projects using the Agile framework.
  • Maintain current budget and make continuous improvements to procure tech that supports the agency’s mission.
  • Maintains oversight of all projects/programs that fall within scope or direct reports.
  • Develops individual team members and monitors team culture/health.
  • Ensure all team members have the necessary tools for success.
  • Monitors team workload and assist with recruitment and training of new team members when necessary.
  • Develop plans and schedules to ensure all tasks and deadlines are being met.
  • Engage with other IT team members to ensure that services meet operational requirements for internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate with team members on future direction and opportunities for new technology.
  • Assist System Architect with implementation of new solutions.
  • Build relationships with outside vendors and external customers for IT related products and services.
  • Evaluate, implement, and provide support for third-party software systems in a client-server environment.
  • Ensure that system performance/state is monitored; analyze and evaluate identified issues, trends, and problem areas; ensure issues are handled appropriately through effective support processes.
  • Recognize the necessary improvements and make suggestions.
  • Must be up to date on the latest technologies.
