About The Position

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Team Manager to support a major national laboratory. This role requires extensive technical knowledge and strong leadership experience. The Team Manager supports the Operations Manager in day-to-day management by overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of voice and data network infrastructures while leading a team of engineers and technicians. Responsibilities include resource planning, work allocation to meet service levels, specifying and applying standards for service delivery, tracking performance metrics, analyzing reports, resolving issues, and drafting/maintaining policies and procedures. The role also involves providing oversight for localized or remote areas, collaborating with customers, supporting enterprise-wide teams, managing complex organizations and technologies, and contributing to process development and service optimization. Key leadership duties include hiring, mentoring, coaching, and supervising engineers and technicians. Infrastructure management involves overseeing the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of VoIP, fiber, and wireless networks. Project and budget control includes managing timelines, vendor contracts, SLAs, and resource allocation. Technical strategy involves developing network architectures and implementing security measures. Operations support requires acting as top-tier support for troubleshooting, addressing outages, and ensuring high network availability. The role also emphasizes recommending and supporting efforts to improve, simplify, and automate operations and enhance the client experience, as well as creating and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and network diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, information technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience. In lieu of degree 11 years job related experience is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), and voice/data systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and executive management.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle strong-minded customers effectively and professionally.

Responsibilities
