About The Position

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Team Manager to support a major national laboratory. This role requires extensive technical knowledge and strong leadership experience. The Team Manager supports the Operations Manager in day-to-day management by overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of voice and data network infrastructures while leading a team of engineers and technicians. Responsibilities include resource planning, work allocation, specifying and applying standards for service delivery, tracking performance metrics, analyzing reports, resolving issues, and drafting/maintaining policies, standards, and procedures. The role also involves providing oversight for localized or remote areas, collaborating with embedded customers, supporting enterprise-wide teams, managing complex organizations and technologies, and contributing to process development and service optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, information technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience. In lieu of degree 11 years job related experience is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Knowledge of network protocols, hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), and voice/data systems
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and executive management.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle strong-minded customers effectively and professionally

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Hiring, mentoring, coaching, and supervising engineers and technicians.
  • Infrastructure Management: Overseeing installation, maintenance, and upgrades of VoIP, fiber, and wireless networks.
  • Project and Budget Control: Managing project timelines, vendor contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and resource allocation.
  • Technical Strategy: Developing network Architectures and implementing security measures.
  • Operations Support: Serving as top-tier support for troubleshooting, addressing outages, and ensuring high network availability. Actively and consistently recommend and support all efforts to improve, simplify, automate, and enhance day-to-day operations and the client experience within area of responsibility.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and network diagrams.
