About The Position

The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) enables the World Bank Group to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150+ locations. The Digital Workplace Experience unit delivers end-user computing products and services for the World Bank Group’s global workforce of approximately 30,000 users. The team also designs, delivers, maintains, and advises on audiovisual and videoconferencing systems, while supporting special events and high-visibility engagements. Core services include corporate PCs, printers, and mobile devices; AV/VC ecosystems; and technical support for flagship events, including the Annual and Spring Meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (for example, in the IT field: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience).
  • Service-oriented professional with strong technical expertise, operational discipline, and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality event and collaboration support in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness, reliability, and accountability in day-to-day operations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise videoconferencing and digital collaboration platforms, including Cisco Webex, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of livestreaming solutions and related production platforms, such as IBM Streaming, Kaltura, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience supporting remote simultaneous interpretation platforms and live captioning solutions.
  • Advanced digital production capabilities, including the creation and management of lower-thirds, titles, and other broadcast-style visual elements.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain professional, patient, and solution-oriented under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm while addressing urgent technical issues and to exercise sound judgment regarding when to act independently and when to escalate.
  • Solid understanding of current videoconferencing industry practices, service standards, and operational procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with integrated and ad hoc conference systems, digital audio consoles, streaming workflows, video systems, lighting equipment, computers, and control systems.
  • Basic familiarity with computer networks and device connectivity in enterprise environments.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and commitment to continuous learning in audiovisual, videoconferencing, and live event support disciplines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international organization serving clients across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a reliable member of a service delivery team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for meeting organizers, coordinating end-to-end event preparation, including connectivity testing, technical dry runs, media playback, and live event execution.
  • Provide live streaming and recording support for meetings and events, including the integration of presentation slides, lower-thirds, titles, and stream outputs to designated platforms.
  • Capture, process, and deliver media files and recordings following meetings and events, as required.
  • Support simultaneous interpretation services by operating platforms, onboarding interpreters, validating language channels, and supporting the streaming or recording of interpreted sessions.
  • Troubleshoot and support executive-level meetings, conferences, and special events across live, virtual, and hybrid formats.
  • Set up, test, and operate audiovisual and videoconferencing systems, including sound reinforcement systems, displays, projection systems, and room control platforms.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, monitor conference room systems both remotely and on site, and participate in end-to-end testing and technical verification activities.
  • Verify, test, troubleshoot, and monitor virtual connections before and during meetings to ensure service continuity and a high-quality user experience.
  • Set up and operate presentation playback and source connectivity, including laptops, desktops, projection systems, and display interfaces, ensuring optimal image quality and correct presentation output.
  • Manage playback, streaming, and recording from a variety of audio and video sources in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Diagnose system anomalies, apply incident management best practices, and resolve service incidents and technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the team’s operational objectives.
