Infrastructure Engineer, Manufacturing & Datacenter

Harbinger MotorsGarden Grove, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Harbinger is hiring a Systems Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and performance of our end-to-end infrastructure, from the factory floor to the datacenter. We're looking for someone with a builder mentality who thrives working on-site in partnership with Business systems, Facilities, and Production teams. You should be as comfortable working alongside factory technicians on the production floor as you would be drawing diagrams and writing Ansible playbooks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, network engineering, endpoint management, or infrastructure operations
  • Deep expertise in Linux and Windows
  • Strong hands-on experience with virtualization and containerization
  • Solid understanding of networking, including switching, firewalls, and wireless
  • Datacenter hardware (power/cooling)
  • Familiarity with factory/ OT edge devices — MES stations, networked tools, PDCs, HMIs and the networks connecting them to IT infrastructure
  • Proven proficiency with IaC and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet)
  • Experience implementing GitOps workflows and SRE best practices
  • Able to troubleshoot complex cross-platform issues, from physical layer faults to application-level performance bottlenecks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an on-site, cross-functional environment
  • Builder mentality with a bias toward hands-on ownership and eliminating manual toil
  • Available for on-call rotations and on-site support as required

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and support end-to-end infrastructure across the factory floor. From core datacenter systems to edge devices like production compute, MES stations, and networked IoT equipment (connected tools, PDCs, HMIs, and similar)
  • Champion an Infrastructure as Code culture, using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet to eliminate manual toil and automate provisioning, configuration, and deployments
  • Implement and manage GitOps workflows for infrastructure delivery, applying SRE principles to ensure 24/7 availability and robust system performance
  • Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems for proactive issue identification and rapid incident response
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support business continuity and system stability
  • Work on-site to manage physical datacenter and factory-floor edge hardware, collaborating closely with local engineering and manufacturing teams

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision (HDV) – 100% employee covered
  • Early-stage Stock Options
  • Robust Retirement Savings (401k, HSA, FSA)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & Parental Leave
  • Annual Vacation Bonus
