The Systems Engineer II is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting critical IT infrastructure that enables research computing platforms across Mass General Brigham. This role plays a key part in ensuring the operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, Trusted Research Environments (Research Enclaves), enterprise storage services, and other technical platforms within Digital Research Operations. The position focuses on storage, network, and hypervisor infrastructure engineering, requiring collaboration with infrastructure teams, researchers, and platform engineers. The engineer will design, deploy, and operate infrastructure services for advanced scientific workloads. Responsibilities include architecture reviews, infrastructure deployment, operational improvements, and a user-facing component requiring responsiveness and effective communication with researchers and technical stakeholders.
