About The Position

The Infrastructure team powers the core systems behind the WorkOS platform. We build and maintain the foundation that keeps everything running smoothly—handling millions of requests, operating at scale, and ensuring our systems are fast, reliable, and always on for our customers. Our team works across the stack and partners closely with teams throughout the company. We regularly step in to support high-impact projects, contribute architectural perspective, and ensure systems are built to scale. Requirements

5+ years of experience
Experience designing, building, and operating infrastructure or internal platform systems
Familiarity with modern cloud environments (we use AWS) and orchestration tools (like Kubernetes)
Comfort working in a culture of autonomy and ownership

Nice To Haves

Exposure to TypeScript or willingness to work in a TypeScript-based stack

Responsibilities

Design and maintain the distributed systems that power core parts of WorkOS
Write and optimize backend services in TypeScript, with attention to performance, reliability, and maintainability
Evolve our use of AWS and Infrastructure as Code to scale systems intelligently and sustainably
Partner with product engineering teams to ensure systems are built with reliability and scale in mind
Build internal tools and shared infrastructure to support engineers across the company
Participate in our on-call rotation—responding to, resolving, and learning from production incidents.
Contribute to technical design reviews and architectural discussions
Document your work, share context, and help level up the team through thoughtful collaboration
Bring a spirit of curiosity—experimenting, iterating, and helping us find better ways to build and operate our systems
