As an Infrastructure Senior Engineer within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburg, PA, Dallas, TX, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL or Denver, CO. We are seeking a Senior Oracle Platform Engineer to support and modernize a large-scale, mission-critical Oracle database platform. This role focuses on platform engineering, not application DBA work. The engineer will play a key role in multitenant transformation, automation of Oracle lifecycle management, and maintaining a secure, audit-ready Oracle environment supporting critical business workloads. This position requires deep hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and comfort operating in highly regulated enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and support Oracle database platforms across multiple production environments.
  • Design, implement, and operate Oracle RAC and Grid Infrastructure.
  • Lead and support Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB) architecture, migrations, and ongoing operations.
  • Perform advanced performance analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Execute and improve database and GI patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Support backup and recovery operations, including Oracle Recovery Appliances.
  • Build and maintain automation for provisioning, patching, and operational tasks.
  • Support and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring and alerting.
  • Implement and operate security controls, including: TDE, EUS, CIS compliance reporting, MFA-related database controls.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during off-hours for critical events.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and audit teams.
  • Produce audit-safe documentation and support regulatory and compliance reviews.
