About The Position

W.W. Grainger, Inc., is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer III in Lake Forest, IL. This role involves developing and testing contingency plans, managing hardware maintenance and lifecycle planning for SAP-related assets, and leading research and analysis projects to translate business requirements into effective system designs. The engineer will ensure the security, operation, and peak performance of various SAP Landscapes, including S/4 HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, BOBJ, IS, DS, SAC, Solution Manager, Open text, Gateway, SCM, CRM, HCM, ADS, BTP, SDI, SLT, and HANA EDW. Responsibilities also include SAP Landscape Design, Sizing, Implementations, SAP Application/Database Upgrades, setting up Distributed and Clustered High Availability, system refresh, and Production Support activities. Additionally, the role entails performing Homogeneous and Heterogenous Migrations of SAP environments from on-premises to the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Up to 20% domestic travel is required to visit Distribution Centers and support Go Lives. Up to 60% remote work is allowed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Prior experience must include: Develop and test contingency plans, hardware maintenance and lifecycle planning for the software, hardware and networking assets affecting SAP
  • Prior experience must include: Lead research and analysis projects to identify the business requirements and translate them into effective system designs

Benefits

  • Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $130,707 – $172,600 which reflects the potential base pay at the time of this posting. Base pay will depend on factors such as work location, relevant experience, and skills. Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion at any time, consistent with applicable law.
