Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in a technical field
  • 7-10 years of work experience in IT systems, data centers, networking, architecture, security, documentation and reporting
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Satellite and Ubuntu), physical and virtual server management (Cisco UCS, Dell OpenManage, VMWare ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V) and NetApp ONTAP
  • Working knowledge of Windows Servers, Splunk, Nagios, Icinga, Commvault Metallic, GitLab, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and staying up to date in the technology domain

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the storage, compute, virtualization, monitoring, logging and alerting infrastructure
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components
  • Collaborate with various teams within business units including security, networking, system administration and helpdesk
  • Work on projects with various teams across the organization, vendors and stakeholders, eliciting and documenting requirements and contributing to project plans
  • Administer backup systems and regularly test recovery procedures
  • Maintain the lifecycle of IT assets, including planning, acquisition, deployment, and decommissioning
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement within CIRA's IT environments
  • Track and prioritize tasks, issues, incidents, and backlog items using ticket management system
  • Coordinate maintenance and support tasks with 3rd party suppliers
  • Manage the technical tools that all business units use to develop, support, and maintain our internal and external facing products
  • Oversee licensing compliance and renewals for IT infrastructure tools
  • Manage OS provisioning and OS level patching
  • Operate and maintain virtual, physical, and cloud infrastructure
  • Implement and execute change management and incident response processes in alignment with ISO 27001:2022 policies, controls, and procedures
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation
  • Travel to data centers located in Toronto and Montreal as necessary
